About Us

Wabi Sabi. Imperfectly Wabi Sabi.

At Imperfectly Wabi Sabi, we celebrate the imperfections in life.  We find beauty in the flaws and the chaos.  We believe that damage from being weathered creates its own kind of shine.  We’re with you through the journey to find that beauty by sharing stories of culture & identity, navigating life frustrations, and by making and growing good food, as inspired by nature and family traditions.

Embrace the imperfection.

I graduated from Yale University on a mission to save the planet. I had a good run. And then life happened. The world I’d so carefully fought to build and protect came crashing down.  But there was beauty in the fire, or so, they say. I found my way back to my love for food. Now I share my stories through cooking, growing, and eating good food.

After some grueling decades, I’d managed to learn to ride through life’s choppy waters to the calm.  (As a child to immigrant parents, you learn to get good at figuring things out on your own and for others).  But after multiple concurrent life-changing events, I’d shelved my Ivy League degree and simply stood by as the embers of my once fiercly career-focused mindset burned to ash. If there ever was a moment to rediscover, reinvent, and reconnect with how I truly wanted to lead my life, this was it.

I stopped fighting and started embracing. And that’s how Imperfectly Wabi Sabi came to be.

Unrefined. Unpolished. Unapologetic.

If you’ve been at it for too long, stay for a bit.

If this story of burn-out resonates with you, stay along for the ride.

Let good food, stories from where we come from, and nature be our guide to finding the beauty in the imperfection of life.  Embrace the chaos.  Embrace the imperfection of life.  Wabi Sabi with me.

Start living your best life by embracing the imperfection of life.

It won’t be perfect, but it can be beautiful.

Imperfectly Wabi Sabi is a lifestyle platform inspiring everyone to live their best lives by embracing the imperfection of life through food, culture, and nature.  We share stories that ground us, heal us, and connect us back to nature, each other, and ourselves.
